Ohisashiburi, LJ.

I don't use LJ for a year and everything's different. But it's like riding a bike, I suppose.
So, long time. How is everyone? I'm sorry if I seemed to have fallen into oblivion. But I'm still in Japan, and doing well. Last year wasn't so great (car accident, torn acl = surgery and long hospital stay), but I'm hoping this year things will be better even if I'm continuing rehab for an extended period of time. (But I'm not complaining about the rehab one bit.) I do wonder when I'll be able to run again, or just fully bend my leg for that matter.
But that's pretty much what's new with me. Life is good. Work is better, but the same. It's a challenge getting up and down the stairs with my leg though since the schools do not have elevators.
My friends are all in Korea this week for spring break. I couldn't go because of my knee. Walking for long distances is not easy at the moment, so all traveling has to wait. Because of this I've been in the office doing tons of lesson planning. And it's the time for office rotations as well. New people get transferred in. Some people get transferred out. It's actually a pretty sad time of the year, especially when some who have been at my school since I came to Japan have been transferred. But thank goodness for email and post.
I should probably try to go back to sleep now since I have to get up for work in a few hours.

[Post] What's up?
May. 14th, 2007 | 08:01 pm
mood:
indescribable
music: GLAY - Beautiful Dreamer
There is much to tell, but I guess I'll keep it in a list form:
(1) Got sick during Golden Week, and I mean sick as hell with a fever and everything. So, I missed my friends' Cinco de Mayo party. We even spent an entire afternoon making tortillas for it. Talk about getting sick at the wrong time.
(2) I couldn't use my car for weeks, so I was stuck at home. Yes. Being stuck in a little remote town in the middle of nowhere is oh so fun. But I got my car back today after it being taken into the shop last week. Boy does it feel good to be driving again. I'm liberated!
(3) I'm not enjoying my job anymore. I'm stuck inbetween this need to leave, but this need of not wanting to return home. It's like being sick of eating Japanese food, but American food is too much for me nowadays.
(4) GLAY. Dear god, that band.
(5) Playing Music of the Night on the piano is coming along nicely. I'm very proud of myself. But I don't want to play the stuff I'm supposed to. Please. No more Mary Poppins, sensei!
(6) Sports Day. Too many Sports Days going on this month. Can't I just sleep in, please?
(7) I'm feeling lonely as of late. Homesickness. Being stuck at home for the past few weeks. Those could have contributed to it.
(8) I finally decided to tackle some Japanese TV. Now I'm addicted to a J-drama, Proposal Daisakusen.
(9) My sister bought me the first season of Beauty and the Beast. It's still a wonderful show, but Catherine still gets on my nerves even now that I'm older.
(10) I hope this month goes by quickly because I'll be going to Tokyo for a conference for three days. I need to get away from this place.
(11) I'm all out of tortillas. I've been eating those with refried beans and cheese for the past week. Now they're all gone. I hope my mom sends me some......... I'm really getting sick of Japanese food, and chopsticks. I'm sorry, but I am. (I still can't eat a chicken wing with chopsticks..... is it even possible!?)
(12) I'm enjoying studying Spanish. It's a shame my friend will be leaving in August, so no more Spanish lessons. My Japanese literacy is improving, but I'm not even going to mention my speaking skills right now. Why? Because it still sucks.
